In January 2018, MoMA exclusively sold the sneaker to celebrate its 'Items: Is Fashion Modern?' exhibition. There's no slowing down for the Dunk in 2021 with Nike set to embark on the silhouette's biggest year ever. Already having previewed dozens of upcoming options for the new year - from general releases to more OFF-WHITE collaborations - yet another appears. This time around, it's a Low version of the original "UNLV" Nike Dunk from 1985. It's a Low that Virgil Abloh used as a base on his selection of Nike Dunks in late 2019, which in itself will drive up the hype. This, though, is void of any OFF-WHITE flair — no external lace overlays, tack-on stitching or exposed-foam tongues, just straight-up classic construction. "Soft Grey" sets the stage for the eye-catching "University Red" that overtakes every overlay across the upper, liner and laces. "NIKE AIR" branding at the tongue also indulges in the scarlet tone atop a grey tag, with the heel embroidery reversed. Sole units remain unchanged from the OG, arriving in a classic white and red arrangement to complete the design.
