There's no slowing down for the Dunk in 2021 with Nike set to embark on the silhouette's biggest year ever. Already having previewed dozens of upcoming options for the new year - from general releases to more OFF-WHITE collaborations - yet another appears. This time around, it's a Low version of the original "UNLV" Nike Dunk from 1985. It's a Low that Virgil Abloh used as a base on his selection of Nike Dunks in late 2019, which in itself will drive up the hype. This, though, is void of any OFF-WHITE flair — no external lace overlays, tack-on stitching or exposed-foam tongues, just straight-up classic construction. "Soft Grey" sets the stage for the eye-catching "University Red" that overtakes every overlay across the upper, liner and laces. "NIKE AIR" branding at the tongue also indulges in the scarlet tone atop a grey tag, with the heel embroidery reversed. Sole units remain unchanged from the OG, arriving in a classic white and red arrangement to complete the design.

The April 2018 version of Virgil Abloh's all-white Air VaporMax is mostly unchanged from the original pair from 'The Ten.' Stripped of color, the performance runner brings raw materials and unique details to the forefront, including an exposed-foam tongue, translucent Swoosh and Off-White suede eyestay. Printed above the clear VaporMax unit, the quotation 'AIR' print on the lateral side takes on an extra meta dimension.

This monochromatic take on the Air Presto is the second time Virgil Abloh and Nike collaborated on this iconic silhouette. The July 2018 iteration came a few mere months after it's two-tone predecessor made it's debut as part of Abloh and Nike's 'The Ten' Collection. This pair showcases an all-black finish, accented with unique touches including a plastic zip tie, white Swoosh with conspicuous zig-zag stitching, and lines of text on the medial quarter panel that allude to the shoe's Beaverton origins.

Released as part of the 'The Ten' collection from Virgil Abloh and Nike, the Off-White x Air Force 1 is transformed through the use of a translucent upper - an effect the designer calls 'ghosting.' Abloh characterizes this model as one of the most experimental designs from 'The Ten,' as it takes a foundational sneaker and radically reduces it, removing all the layers practically down to the padding, so that it's still technically an Air Force 1, but just barely.

Virgil Abloh presents a relatively straightforward take on Bruce Kilgore's design with this Off-White x Air Force 1 Low. That isn't to suggest there aren't unique details on the reconstructed build: in addition to a mix of ripstop and suede, the upper features taped seams and a white Swoosh attached via zigzag stitching. Exposed foam and misplaced tags appear on the tongue, while 'LOGO' inscribed on the heel tab delivers a final meta flourish.

The lifestyle runner combines a deconstructed build – highlighted by rough seams and the exposed inner foam of the tongue - with the heralded T-shirt-like comfort of the original Nike Air Presto from 2000. Virgil Abloh's signature flourishes are present and accounted for, including a plastic zip tie and printed block-letter text flanked by quotation marks.

Made in collaboration with Virgil Abloh's luxury streetwear brand, the Off-White x Nike Air Rubber Dunk 'University Blue' reimagines the retro low-top with design elements borrowed from the lifestyle running space. The latter includes an upper taken from the P-6000, rendered in white mesh with blue accents and metallic silver overlays, and visible Air cushioning in the gum rubber cupsole. This Air Force 1 designed by Virgil Abloh dropped at ComplexCon 2017 in celebration of the silhouette's 35th anniversary. It features a white leather upper with a metallic silver Swoosh and an orange tag. It also comes with a chunky foam tongue and signature "AIR" branding on the midsole. The Nike Air Force 1 AF100 pack also included an Air Force 1 Low by Travis Scott, a Lunar Force 1 by Acronym, an Air Force 1 High by Don C, and an Air Force 1 Low by Roc-A-Fella. The pack received a wider release in December 2017.
