Celebrating its 75th birthday this year, the National Basketball Association (NBA) has delighted fans the world over for over seven decades. It's also been the birthplace of countless footwear icons from the Chuck Taylor to the Air Jordan 1. Amongst the A-list of hardwood-turned-streetwear sneakers is the humble Nike Dunk, and it, along with the NBA, will be celebrating the Association's diamond anniversary with a handful of special team-themed releases, including this NBA x Nike Dunk Low "Knicks" colorway. (Unofficially) honing in on the heavily-supported franchise that is the New York Knicks, the celebratory kicks come clad in the Knickerbockers' signature orange, blue and white, seen here linking with blacks and greys, too. The latter serves the upper layers, quarter overlays, and liners, while the team hues hover of the forefoot (orange) and Swoosh/heel combo (blue) before returning to black and white underfoot. The Parra x Nike Dunk Low SB is drawn from a collaborative series paying tribute to the 2021 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, where the sport of skateboarding makes its official debut. The Dutch artist Piet Parra dresses the low-top in off-white leather with abstract-print textile overlays in a blend of blue, red, pink and teal hues - an eye-catching design repeated on Nike SB's Olympic Federation Kits. The Union LA x Nike Dunk Low 'Argon' is drawn from the three-piece 'Passport Pack,' which takes inspiration from the '90s, when the Union crew logged countless air miles as they hunted down exclusive sneakers and streetwear. The three styles pay homage to a trio of cities that the retailer called and presently calls home — New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo - while offering a modern spin on early 2000s colorways. This pair features unfinished red stitching and a tearaway ripstop upper that reveals a leather underlay in varying shades of blue. On the lateral side, a yellow 'UN/LA' tag accompanies a heel emblem marked with Union's Frontman graphic. The logo reappears on the blue translucent rubber outsole.

This new Dunk Low Pro features a color blocking very similar to the Nike SB 'J-Pack' series, which first featured Air Jordan 1 color blocking on skate shoes in 2005. Released in June 2019, the Nike Dunk Low Pro SB 'Black Pine' is constructed of a black suede upper with Pine Green leather accents on the shoe's tongue, toe box, Swoosh and heel. A Zoom Air unit in the heel offers enhanced comfort. The white midsole provides contrast while a Pine Green rubber outsole caps off the look.

Nike SB released the 'What The Dunk?' as part of the campaign for "Nothing But the Truth", their very first feature length skate film featuring the Nike SB Team Riders. Created from 31 different Nike SB Dunks, each part of the 'What The Dunk?' is taken directly from those 31 Dunks, including panels, shoelaces, tongues, outsoles and stitching. Out of 31 Dunks, only one was unattainable to consumers. The neon green lining on the left shoe is from the infamous 'eBay Dunk', where it was a 1 of 1. The 'What The…' concept has been adopted on a few different shoes, but the Nike SB Dunk started it all.
