Releasing as part of the renowned retailer's 30th anniversary festivities, the Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Desert Moss' brings back the creative partners' modified AJ4 from 2020. This pair is taken from a capsule dubbed 'Tent and Trail,' featuring colors and materials inspired by outdoor gear from the '80s and '90s. The mid-top carries an upper built with a blend of bright purple mesh and mustard yellow suede. Vibrant pops of turquoise land on the lower molded eyelets and heel tab, marked with Nike Air branding in a lavender hue. A stitched fold-down tongue, yellow 'UN/LA' tag and translucent TPU wings are carried over from the 2020 release. The sneaker is mounted on an off-white polyurethane midsole with an aqua-tinged Air-sole unit under the heel.

The Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Motorsports' is inspired by a 2006 friends and family colorway created for the 4th anniversary of MJ's Motorsport's Racing team. Released to the general public in March of 2017, the sneaker incorporates the teams' white, black, and varsity royal blue colors, but removes the Mars Blackmon heel accent that graced the 2006 sneake. An Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Motorsports Alternate,' released a few months later in a black colorway.

The Air Jordan 4 Retro NRG 'Raptors' shares its name with an OG colorway of the Air Jordan 7, and both feature nubuck construction and a black, red and purple palette. The 4 differs from the 7 by ditching the charcoal grey paneling of the 1992 release while also adding a speckled midsole. But it's not as if the 'Raptors' name is exactly canonical—the Toronto Raptors franchise didn't exist before 1995.

In 2012 the Air Jordan 4 'Retro 'Bred' was released as part Nike's Black Friday release. The sneaker was one of the four original colorways released in 1989. It features the same Black, Red, and Cement Grey colorway as its original. The Air Jordan 4 'Retro 'Bred' was retro'd in 1999 and in 2008 as part of the Collezione pack. This 2012 retro release also swaps out the OG Nike Air branding for a Jumpman logo on the heel.
