The Air Jordan 4 Retro NRG 'Raptors' shares its name with an OG colorway of the Air Jordan 7, and both feature nubuck construction and a black, red and purple palette. The 4 differs from the 7 by ditching the charcoal grey paneling of the 1992 release while also adding a speckled midsole. But it's not as if the 'Raptors' name is exactly canonical—the Toronto Raptors franchise didn't exist before 1995.

The Union LA x Air Jordan 4 Retro 'Off Noir' represents the follow-up effort to the duo's highly coveted Air Jordan 1 collaboration from 2018. The TPU wings are filled in, reminiscent of an original Tinker Hatfield sketch of the AJ4, while the AIR JORDAN tag usually found on the inside of the tongue conveys a unique look, like someone folded the tongue over to expose the inside tag.
